What's a CTF?
"In cybersecurity, Capture the Flag (CTF) competitions are exercises in which participants, either individually or as part of a team, are challenged to find and exploit vulnerabilities in a system to capture a 'flag' or piece of information" (Filipkowski, 2024, p. 3).

ISTS 2025
Members recently competed at RITSEC's prestigious ISTS cybersecurity competition—Cornell's first appearance at an event of this caliber. Although we faced malware-laden Windows services and lost our minds over DNS issues, the all-underclassmen team gained invaluable hands-on experience defending and managing complex infrastructure under real-time pressure.
NYC Collegiate Security Meetup 2025
Cornell Cyber traveled to Columbia University for the NYC Collegiate Security Meetup, where they connected with peers from NYU, Queens College, and John Jay. The event featured focused discussions on the cybersecurity industry and technical topics, strengthening ties within the growing New York student-security community. We're glad Cornell could make it!
